WPT on Television This Week (U.S.)

The very last brand new episode of the WPT airs on GSN this Monday and we go out with a bang. "Gambling Gus" Hansen runs like the Gus of old at the 2008 WPT World Championship, raising with reckless abandon, causing mayhem and as fellow finalist David Chiu says "is more fun than watching a Jackie Chan movie." Can Gus win his fourth WPT title, pocket the ridiculous $3.4 million dollar first place prize and send every other finalist into therapy? Watch at 9:00PM on Monday to find out.
This Saturday night the Travel Channel busts out the waaaay back machine with a broadcast of the season three Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship. It's tournament names like the DBNAPC that make me glad we had a two hour time slot. But what a line up: Carlos Mortensen, Erik Seidel, David "The Dragon" Pham, John Juanda and "Crazy" Kido Pham. Nice job, Travel. You picked a good one. Not to slight Travels' other choice for their EIGHT HOUR block of WPT on Saturday, the 2007 Foxwoods Poker Classic featuring Tony "Bagels" Cavezza, Raj Patel and Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler and two months worth of "Sick Hands of the Week."
Lastly, on Sunday get the last chance to watch Vanessa Selbst and Nancy Todd Tyner hold one of the great heads-up battles in recent memory at the final table of the WPT Ladies Championship. Popcorn not only suggested but practically required.
Watch all you want, we'll make more.
