Michael Phelps, We Have Your Ticket

Turns out the greatest Olympian in history is a fan of the WPT. Here's the quote from a poker buddy of Phelps up in Canada (and here's the whole article - go ahead and read it, I'll wait)

"He was telling me that he wants to see what he can do on the World Poker Tour after these Olympics. Another dream would be the World Series of Poker," said Crawford. "Trade in the gold medals for gold bracelets, I guess."

Michael, I think we have just the ticket for you. What are you doing in early March 2009? The World Poker Tour hosts a little tournament at the Commerce Casino every year called the WPT Invitational and we might be able to hook you up with a seat at the table. I can't guarantee everyone will be dressed like Sabina Gadecki (above) but if that will make you feel at home, we will see what we can do. Oh, and congratulations on all the medals and stuff.
