Nice headline. Yesterday, WPT Stat Monkey brought up the fact that one seat at the WPT final table has been tremendously unlucky for whichever player ended up there. Only eight wins out of 99 tries. A win rate of .080 or bad. Here, for the first time, is the chart of seats and WPT titles:
Seat One: 21 wins
Seat Six: 21 wins
Seat Two: 18 wins
Seat Four: 16 wins
Seat Three: 15 wins
Seat Five: 8 wins
Is it a statistical anomaly? Will it even out when we get to 200 tournaments? Or is the seat cursed? It's a good thing that poker players are neither superstitious or conspiracy minded. Otherwise, we might have a problem filling the five seat.
